AXIS Coffee Bar & Eatery – The Gathering Place at the Heart of Tesoro Viejo
Tesoro Viejo is the kind of place where ‘happily ever after’ comes true. So it makes sense that as spring began to paint the hillsides with brightly colored wildflowers, AXIS Coffee Bar & Eatery, the community’s gathering place located in Town Center, hosted its first ‘Storybook Hour.’ Families grabbed muffins and coffees and gathered around while Princesses Elsa and Anna read stories to an audience of kids. A true community partner, AXIS donated twenty-five percent of the day’s proceeds to benefit Valley Children’s Hospital. And Storybook Hour is now a recurring event.
The eclectic and lively eatery at the heart of Town Center is also hosting ongoing Wine Wednesdays, with fifty percent off its carefully curated, always changing wine list.
“AXIS is so much more than coffee,” says Victoria Greer, noting that their fair-trade coffee is sourced from around the world. “Between wine and the local craft beer list, it’s a great place to relax in the evenings.”
AXIS serves a thoughtfully sourced all-day food menu that utilizes organic and local produce and meats as much as possible. Menu items evolve with the seasons and include house made baked goods as well as breakfast burritos, avocado toasts, acai bowls, salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, soups and more.
AXIS is owned by Casey and Lindsay Hawkins, who also own the popular South Gate Brewery in Oakhurst. The eatery’s welcoming atmosphere and location within “the Hub” makes it a natural draw for anyone looking to get to know the Tesoro Viejo vibe over a latte.
In addition to Storybook Hour and Wine Wednesdays, AXIS has also recently hosted their first ‘Coffee & Canines’ with the SPCA, an adoption event at which four dogs found their forever homes. Perhaps soon they’ll be romping through a dog park at Tesoro Viejo or roaming one of the trails with their humans.
