Receives Award of Merits in national awards program
MADERA, CA – Judges for the 2020 Gold Nugget Awards named Tesoro Viejo as an Award of Merit winner in three categories at its annual competition, which honors architectural design and planning excellence. The prestigious awards are selected by a panel of top industry experts who reviewed more than 575 entries from around the world.
Tesoro Viejo won an Award of Merit in three categories: Best Special Use Project for The Hub, Tesoro Viejo’s Welcome Center; Best Recreation Use Facility/Amenity for the Ranch House, the resort-style clubhouse/recreation center; and Masterplan Community of the Year.
“Gold Nugget Award winners reflect our industry’s best, brightest and most innovative architects, planners and builder/developers,” said Lisa Parrish, judging chairperson and Gold Nugget ceremonies administrator.
Now in its 57th year, Gold Nugget Awards is the largest and most prestigious competition of its kind in the nation. It honors design and planning achievements in community and home design, green-built housing, site planning, commercial, retail, mixed-use development and specialty housing categories.
“To be selected among the best of the best in the nation and around the world is a testament to the quality and innovation of Tesoro Viejo,” said Brent McCaffrey, president of Tesoro Viejo.
The Hub at Tesoro Viejo – recognized in the category of Best Special Use Project – is a state-of-the-art welcome center where future homebuyers can envision their new lifestyle at Tesoro Viejo with interactive technology. The Hub also includes AXIS Coffee Bar & Eatery, providing a relaxing environment to enjoy hand-crafted coffee drinks, tea, bistro dining, along with complimentary Wi-Fi and a pet-friendly patio.
The Ranch House, Tesoro Viejo’s resort-style clubhouse/recreation center, was honored in the category of Best Recreation Use Facility/Amenity. The clubhouse provides families with boundless opportunities for fun with the large heated swimming pools with its beach-edge entry, lap lanes, a separate children’s pool with splash pads, and two spa pools. The outdoor firepits are the place on cool evenings to gather and enjoy conversation. The large event lawn is the perfect space for outdoor movie night, kids’ parties or camp out. The picnic tables, outdoor fireplace, and covered outdoor area create endless opportunities for enjoyment.
Tesoro Viejo was honored as a Masterplan Community of the Year. It is a breathtaking site of about 1,600 acres of gently rolling hills and vistas. Tesoro Viejo features residential villages connected by walking paths and miles of trails. The Town Center is home to a Madera County Fire Station, sheriff substation, and the Hub. Located in the heart of Hillside Village is the Hillside School, the neighborhood school serving students in transitional kindergarten through 8th grade.
