There’s a sense of something special as you walk into the Ranch House, Tesoro Viejo’s resort-style clubhouse and recreation center. From the rustic farmhouse architecture to the charming, yet grand entry lobby – you know this is something unique.
Standing in the lobby lounge of the Ranch House, your sight is drawn into the outdoor space with the large swimming pool with lap lanes and beach-edge entry. The glass fence around the pool that is flanked by palm trees sends the message that this, in fact, is a resort-like setting.
“This is amazing – there is nothing like it in our region,” says a local real estate agent, as she toured the grounds during the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Tesoro Viejo celebrated the grand opening of the Ranch House and opened it up to the public to tour for just one weekend. Guests were met with a complimentary glass of champagne to enjoy, as they strolled the Ranch House and all that it offered.
Each distinct area of the Ranch House evokes a different emotion. “The Hangout” is complete with pool tables, outdoor fireplace, televisions, comfortable seating, and features an impressive communal table made by a local craftsman from an 85-year-old Sequoia tree from Shaver Lake.
The “Public House” is the perfect place to throw a private cocktail party or baby shower with its retractable barn door and kitchen facilities for drink and food service. The inviting space connects the indoor and the outdoors.
And let’s talk about the outdoor space. The large heated swimming pool with its beach-edge entry and lap lanes can be enjoyed year-round; and the separate children’s pool with splash pads, poolside cabanas, and two spa pools will provide families with boundless opportunities for fun. The outdoor firepits will be the place on cool evenings to gather and enjoy conversation. The large event lawn is the perfect space for outdoor movie night, kids’ parties or campouts.
During the grand opening, a woman is on her cell phone standing near the “Garden Bar” and tells the person on the line: “You got to get over here and check this out!”
The “Garden Bar” provides an event space with built-in bar for wine tastings and gatherings. The outdoor fireplace with comfortable lounge seating and festoon lighting is the perfect way to relax. And adjacent to the “Garden Bar” is the “Bodega Room” – a large space to accommodate private events with a chef-ready kitchen and a retractable barn door that connects to the outdoor space.
Want to join a yoga class or take a dance lesson? The “Flex Room” provides the space for meetings or on-demand community classes.
And just when you think the Ranch House has thought of it all – there’s more. The “Tasting Tower” is an architectural gem with its stone walls and towering wood-beamed ceiling. Here, you are transported to a Tuscan villa where you can sip wine and enjoy the view of the outdoor space.
While it doesn’t have a formal name, perhaps the best seat in the house is the firepit area next to the fountain wall, overlooking the Martin Morgan Amphitheater. This will be THE place to be during the Live on the Lawn concert series and a perfect place to keep an eye on the kids playing at the neighborhood park.
Thanks to the partnership with Comcast, guests at the Ranch House will enjoy free WiFi to stay connected.
Gina Estrada – one of Tesoro Viejo’s first residents – can already envision her family meeting up at the Ranch House, enjoying conversation around the firepits.
The Ranch House represents more than a decade of planning and visioning, says Ash Knowlton, president of construction for Tesoro Viejo.
“We visited clubhouses at master-planned communities in 9 states and feel that we captured and brought back the best of the best,” he says.
Clinton Peterson – another one of Tesoro Viejo’s first residents – agrees, as he says about the Ranch House: “How cool is this place?”
