Doctor and Family Leave East Coast for California Resort-Style Living at Tesoro Viejo

Dr. Rizwan Habeeb and his family always wanted to move to California, but they knew the traffic and busy in life in the Bay Area and Southern California were not for them.

Habeeb Family at Tesoro Viejo

A native of the state of Virginia, Dr. Habeeb did a quick Internet search for new homes in Central California and discovered Tesoro Viejo.  Last November, Dr. Habeeb with his wife, Madiha, and four daughters – Zeenat, Zainab, Zara, and Zain –  visited California to find their new home, and they drove straight from the airport to Tesoro Viejo.

The Habeebs“It was visually appealing with the trees, open space, and the foothills in the background,” Dr. Habeeb says.

He recounts visiting the Hub, the welcome center, to learn more about Tesoro Viejo and seeing a man walk in who he immediately recognized.

“He looked familiar, and I remembered seeing him on the video on the Tesoro Viejo website,” he says.

It was Bob McCaffrey, CEO of Tesoro Viejo.  Dr. Habeeb introduced himself and Bob offered to give him and his family a tour of the community.

They visited the resort-style clubhouse, saw the new elementary school, and got an overview of the land plan of the community, including the trails, as well as the model homes.  The Habeeb family knew that Tesoro Viejo was right for them.  His four school-aged daughters had just one request – they each wanted their own bedroom.  They selected McCaffrey Homes’ Valley Oak model of the Oaks collection in the Hillside Village to fit that request.

And Dr. Habeeb had one request of his own – an easy drive to work as an anesthesiologist.  He works in two medical facilities in Fresno.

“Tesoro Viejo is ideally located – it’s an easy 15-minute drive for me to get to the operating room,” he says.

Habeeb sistersThe Habeeb family is looking forward to enjoying all the amenities that Tesoro Viejo offers, including the clubhouse, the neighborhood coffee bar & eatery, neighborhood parks, and miles of trails for biking and hiking. A big bonus is the new Hillside School right in the middle of their neighborhood where three of this four daughters attend.

“It’s like a mini-resort,” he says.

Moving across the country isn’t easy, but Dr. Habeeb says that the McCaffrey Homes sales staff and everyone at Tesoro Viejo have been very friendly and helpful in the transition to their new home.

“They made it seamless and easy,” he says.
