On a recent Sunday, new Tesoro Viejo homeowner Aaren Rodrigues and her children rode their bikes from their Altura home in Hillside Village to the Town Center to enjoy the first-ever Open Air Market.
“It was great being able to ride our bikes to the Open Air Market – and my kids were excited to enjoy a churro there,” Rodrigues said. “I love that our amazing community has so much to offer.”
What better way to spend a Sunday than shopping unique home décor and gifts from local artisans, enjoying live music, and letting the kids run around the event lawn in Town Center during Tesoro Viejo’s Open Air Market?
Tesoro Viejo launched its Open Air Market series on February 9 with dates set throughout 2020. Each Open Air Market will have a different theme and is held in partnership with Bluebird Market, a collaboration among local creatives, makers and artisans from across the Central Valley and beyond.
“It has been a joy to collaborate with Tesoro Viejo Development to bring Bluebird Market to such a great community that accommodates not only their own residents, but people from nearby Madera, Fresno and mountain areas, too,” said Briana Valdez, co-owner of Bluebird Market. “We look forward to growing this event over the next several months and becoming a monthly highlight for Tesoro Viejo homeowners and visitors.”
The first Open Air Market in February was a huge success with lots of interesting vendors and a steady stream of customers strolling the market set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Sierra Nevadas.
“Tesoro Viejo’s Town Center is the perfect place to gather, and we are pleased to continue our Open Air Market series. It’s a wonderful way to spend a family day,” said Robert McCaffrey, CEO of Tesoro Viejo Development.
The most recent Tesoro Viejo Open Air Market was held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 8 in the Tesoro Viejo Town Center, located at 4150 Town Center Boulevard in Madera off Highway 41 just minutes north of River Park.
The March 8 Open Air Market was being co-hosted by Bluebird Home and Lifestyle Market and featured a “curated shopping experience” to discover one-of-a-kind gifts by local creatives, makers and artisans. Residents and visitors alike shopped more than 15 vendors offering jewelry, perfumes, home décor, and more.
The vintage car show featured more than 20 British cars and families enjoyed music by Morgan Canyon Band, and kids enjoyed the face painting. Sunday Brunch was in full swing at AXIS Coffee Bar & Eatery with bottomless mimosas for $12.
The Tesoro Viejo Open Air Market will be held on a Sunday most months in 2020, and the April Open Air Market is scheduled for the 5th, featuring a spring theme. To see the full list of 2020 dates, click here.
